The Key Thing to Think About

When choosing a photographer, one of the main things to keep in mind is are you paying for two photographers. If you talk to us, you know that we are not pushy on picking us. The reason for why we aren't is because you are the important person! You need to make sure that you find the right person that matches your personality and you feel comfortable with.

When choosing a photographer for your wedding one of the things that we suggest the most is making sure you have 2 photographers for the day of. Shooting weddings can be a lot for one person and it can be difficult to get everything you need! It can also be hard to get content of both the groomsmen and the brides. It is possible to get done, but it is hard!

Another thing to keep in mind is when you are creating a day of timeline. (Check out our blog about timelines if you are struggling with one!) One of the most common things that you will find when looking at various photographers is charging by the hour. I have been a bride before too, and let me tell you that can add a little stress to your timeline! Some photographers just have a different mindset on how to charge brides. Not that one way is better than the other, I just prefer to not charge you by the hour! If you have talked to us, we believe that a wedding is a full day event. To charge you guys by the hour feels unfair to us because they are a full day! If you find a photographer that does charge by the hour, make sure you take a look at that timeline to see if you can find a way to make it work!

One thing that you don't find a lot of is a husband & wife duo or a male/female team. If you are wanting to getting photographs of both parties, I would make sure you keep that in mind when choosing your photographer! Sometimes it can be hard to find one that has both, but we are out there! You just have to hunt for us. By having both a female and male team it can help ease the parties. We have found that in our personal experience that it can create a sense of awkwardness for the groomsmen when they are getting ready to have a female with them! They feel like they can't be themselves or they can't joke how they normally can with a male photographer. If those getting ready photos are important to you, we strongly suggest finding a male/female team!

The world is full of photographers! We know that your perfect photographer is out there! If you feel like you need help find them, let us know! We are happy to help in any way to find that perfect fit!
