Things are leading up to your wedding day, it's hectic! Things start to blend together on what you need and do not need to get done. Then you start to think about your wedding photographs and whether you do or do not need to prepare for them.

The Truth Is..

You don't need to if you don't want to! But, there are things that will help ease and smooth your day over if you do want to be 110% prepared for your whole wedding! The reality is, we are here to prepare things for you so you don't have to think about it! However, there are 3 specific things that I will go over to help your day.

Item Number 1

To help ensure a smooth day, one item that will be the most helpful out of everything else is a group shot list. Things can get hectic as you lead up to your wedding and especially on the day itself! Your wedding day is going to be exciting for you, your family and friends. Sometimes this is the only time that they will see each other in a long time. Most will find this time as playing catch up after your ceremony. By having this group shot list, we can assess a place and the people who will be in these shots. On the actual day itself, we suggest finding maybe a friend or a family member who won't be in the group shots to help arrange those family members.

I can tell you with my own wedding I struggled to find who was deemed important enough to be in family photographs. Sometimes it can be difficult to think about, and at the end of the day you don't want to offend anyone by not having them in it. Here is a list that we think is the easiest to follow when choosing:

  • Parents on both sides
  • Parents, siblings, & grandparents on both sides
  • Both sets of Parents together
  • Both sets of Parents, siblings, & grandparents (if you wish) together
  • Siblings on both sides
  • Grandparents on both sides

Some choose to have their aunts and uncles in their group photos, but at the end of the day it all depends on the relationship you have with them! Some people have more of a relationship with them than others. There is no right or wrong way!

Item Number 2

This doesn't always apply to every couple, but this may add to all your hard work for preparing for your wedding day! Something that I always photograph for my clients are their details. Some details matter more to a bride than others. Here are the things that we recommend for you to have photographed:

  • Rings (Can't forget the rings!)
  • Invitations (only if you want to)
  • Notes to each other or gifts for each other
  • Anything that is special/meaningful

As I said above, all these things can vary with each couple! However, we have some extra things that I bring to the weddings to help enhance those detail shots if you are planning to not have some of those things!

Item Number 3

This is going to be the most important thing to remember. HAVE FUN. Congratulations, you have made it! All that planning has paid off and it's your turn to have celebrate too! In our package, we arrange meetings along your planning to help your day run smoothly. There is no need to worry any longer, we take care of the rest. We do our best to be a fly on the wall during your wedding to let you and your bridal party have fun! We understand that it gets tiring to have a camera in your face for almost 8-12 hours, but we try our hardest to not make it feel that way.

Relax and remember your day forever!
